How to add ad Unit in Google Ad Manager?

There are two ways to add ad units in Google Ad Manager: manually creating them one by one, or uploading them in bulk using a CSV file. Here’s a breakdown of both methods:

Manually Creating an Ad Unit:

  1. Sign in to your Google Ad Manager account.
  2. Navigate to the “Inventory” section and then click on “Ad units”.
  3. Click the “New ad unit” button.
  4. Choose whether you want to create a top-level ad unit (independent) or a child ad unit (nested under another unit).
  5. Enter a unique code and name for your ad unit. Use a clear naming convention for easy identification later.
  6. (Optional) Add a description for the ad unit.
  7. Define the ad unit size (fixed size for websites, smart banner for mobile apps).
  8. Configure additional settings like targeting options and ad formats (optional).
  9. Click “Save” to create the ad unit.

Adding Ad Units in Bulk with a CSV File:

  1. Download the sample CSV file provided by Google Ad Manager [[invalid URL removed]]. This file includes all the relevant fields and their formats for creating ad units.
  2. Open the CSV file and fill in the details for each ad unit you want to create. Refer to the descriptions in the downloaded file for each field.
  3. Save your edited CSV file.
  4. Go back to the “Inventory” section and “Ad units” in Google Ad Manager.
  5. Click the “Upload” button and choose “Browse” to select your saved CSV file.
  6. Click “Upload and validate” to check for any errors in your file. Make corrections and re-upload if necessary.
  7. Once validated, click “Confirm” to create all the ad units from your CSV file.
